Coyote Spotting at Giants Tomb Island – Giants Tomb Trading Co
This coyote was spotted between Present Island and the mainland of Penetanguishene March 2017. He was actually part of pack of coyotes, and got separated while crossing the ice.
There is lots of large wildlife on the 30,000 Islands of Georgian Bay, from foxes, to coyotes and wolves, deer, and the odd bear.
In fact, wildlife forms the basis of many local legends. Le Festival du Loup annually celebrates 400 plus years of local francophone culture and heritage through music and art.
The festival occurs the 3rd weekend of July, over four days in Lafontaine, a francophone community on the shores of Georgian Bay, northeast of Penetanguishene. It includes evenings of storytelling, emerging musical talent, fair-style entertainment and climaxed by a large concert (i.e. Grand hurlement).
